On Monday, March 16th, Bishop Matano issued a directive cancelling all public Masses in the Dioceses of Rochester until further notice. That letter was distributed through diocesan eblast, the Catholic Courier, the All Saints parish website and through the Constant Contact email distribution list.
Yesterday, Bishop Matano wrote a follow-up letter with further explanation, clarification and directives. If you haven’t done so already, please read it. It is attached in this email.
Later today, I will release a letter to explain how All Saints parish will adjust to these directives. It will be the first installment of several, to help prepare us for the weekend ahead, and the new circumstances we find ourselves in.
With the uncertainty of many things, especially “how long will this last?” and “what else is going to change?” There are no clear answers to either or many other questions. I ask that we maintain a prayerful approach to everything that we are asked to follow.
In our prayers, let us remember the needs of those who suffer and offer these and our needs to the witnesses of St. Patrick and St. Cyril of Jerusalem, who courageously proclaimed and defended the gospel through words and way of life. May we follow their example in these difficult times as a guide to those who are struggling and for our own sanctification.
