ASA Families:

We are one week into Advent and three weeks until Christmas. As the weather seems to be getting colder, the children are full of warm excitement in anticipation of Christmas. As we prepare for Christmas, we are also preparing for other exciting events here at All Saints Academy. Here are some news and notes:

School Notes:

  • Christmas Concert
    • The All Saints Academy Christmas Concert and Pageant will take place on Wednesday, December 13th beginning at 6:30.
    • Students should arrive as follows:
      • 5th grade by 5:50
      • Recorder Club and Song Leaders – no later than 6:00
      • Pre K, Kdg, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th – no later than 6:15
    • Everyone should report to the stage
  • Attire:
    • All Students should be in Christmas colors (no jeans) except for Grade 2. 2nd graders should be dressed in their saint costume.
    • Please leave jackets and all other outerwear with your parents.
  • DRESS DOWN DAY – MONDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2017
    • In response to wonderful behavior at the Immaculate Conception holy day Mass. All students and staff may dress down on Monday, December 11th, 2017.
    • Thank you all for a wonderful display of ASA behavior.
  • Morning Drop Off
    • Over the last few weeks, I have noticed that more families are arriving around the same time in the morning. This leads to more vehicles at the State Street entrance to the school. This is a reminder that the school recommendation is to drop your children off on the ASA side of the street as opposed to the St. Mary’s side of the street. I understand that this may be difficult as space is limited on that side of the street. I am asking that you make every attempt to drop off on the ASA side and if you need to drop off on the St. Mary’s side, it is suggested that you walk your child across the street. Thank you.
  • Family Mass
    • Everyone is invited to the Family Mass, this Sunday, December 10th at 9:00 am at St. Vincent’s Church on Dodge Street.
  • December Service Project
    • Our December Service Project is organized by our First Grade class. We are collecting mittens/gloves for children this winter season.
    • Please review the attached flyer to learn more about the project.

  • Nut Free School
    • We are a “nut free” environment here at ASA. There are numerous children with severe allergies so we require that the school be nut free. I ask that you keep that in mind when you pack your child’s lunch. We respect your cooperation in this manner.

Continued Reminders:

  • Communicating with School
    • Just a reminder that the best way to communicate a change in a child’s daily routine (such as early pick up or absence) is through email. The email should be sent directly to the homeroom teacher and if a change needs to occur once the child has arrived at school, the front desk should be emailed as well Reimann@dor.org
    • When making a phone call is the only option to notify of a change please be aware that after 1:30 it is often difficult to get the message to the classroom in time. We understand emergencies do occur but, if possible, please let us know as soon as possible.

Blessings,

Mr. Verzillo
