Jesus proclaims today the Gospel of God: “This is the time of fulfillment. The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the Gospel.” Jesus challenges us to accept a change of heart, to start believing and thinking differently. The Gospel asks us to take the focus off ourselves and away from self-concern, and place it on our brothers and sisters, especially those most broken and in need, and on our environment. We are called to be stewards of all God has created. This means that we are also called to work on God’s behalf ensuring that all that God created and all who God created is cared for and protected.
